Opening this morning in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection of the Training Seminar on Materials Accounting for the benefit of Inspectors of the Internal Security Forces of Mali. The opening ceremony was chaired by the Secretary General of the department, Mr. Oumar SOGOBA, in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, the Divisional Commissioner Seydou Mamadou DOUMBIA, the Chief Inspector of the Security and Civil Protection Services, the Commissioner General of Police Brigade Moussa Boubacar MARIKO, the Deputy Head of Mission of EUCAP-SAHEL MALI, Mrs. Maja SVERDRUP, the representative of the Head of Mission of DCAF in Bamako, Mr. Boubacar THERA, Service Directors and Chief of Staff, Inspectors and trainers. Three speeches marked the opening ceremony. This is, first of all, that of the Chief Inspector, who first of all returned a vibrant feeling to the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Brigadier General Daoud Aly Mohammedine. For him, this proved, in many respects, all the importance and the high consideration he attaches to this morning's activity. Which activity which, still according to the Chief Inspector, aims to strengthen the professional capacity of the Inspectors of the Internal Security Forces of Mali. A major objective, he continues, in line with the policy of modernization and professionalization of the Defense and Security Forces so much advocated by the authorities of the Transition. He will also specify that the themes taught during this Seminar will most certainly meet the expectations and training needs legitimately expressed by the Inspectors themselves during a special discussion session with the trainers. The Commissioner General of the Police Brigade Moussa Boubacar MARIKO finally expressed his gratitude and recognition to Eucap-Sahel-Mali and DCAF, two potential partners, he will say, constantly committed to their side for the success of different projects. Following the Chief Inspector, the Deputy Head of Mission, Mrs. Maja SVERDRUP will affirm that the support and support for the Ministerial Inspection Services and the Internal Security Forces constitutes a priority in the current mandate of the EUCAP- Mission SAHEL-MALI. For her, the major objective of this support is to be able to bring together all the strategic, technical and pedagogical conditions necessary to create efficient, independent and responsible inspection services. To achieve this objective, according to Mrs. Maje SVERDRUP, the Eucap-Sahel-Mali Mission works in close coordination with DCAF with whom EUCAP has built a successful partnership for the benefit of the ISSPC, thus allowing them to improve their skills by strengthening the capacities . As for the representative of DCAF, Mr. Boubacar THERA, he will affirm that his structure will continue to support and support the Inspection Services, through training and strategic advice. For the latter, the outcome of this close and privileged cooperation with the Ministry in charge of Security, the ISSPC and the FSI Inspection Services remains their priority and is consistent with the achievement of clearly identified objectives. Speaking as a last resort, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection, Mr. Oumar SOGOBA will say that this training seminar is the result of a fruitful partnership between his department, the Eucap-Sahel-Mali Mission and the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). For the Secretary General, this event is of capital importance insofar as it will bring together around thirty inspectors from, not only the Inspectorate of Security and Civil Protection Services, but also from the sectoral Inspection Services of the National Police, Civil Protection, National Gendarmerie and National Guard. And to add that a good knowledge of Materials Accounting by those responsible for control is a factor in improving the management of the Services. He urged the Inspectors to be very attentive and diligent in following the various themes that will be taught to them during the Seminar, the importance of which no longer needs to be demonstrated. And that at the end of the five days of intense work, he remains convinced that the Inspectors will be sufficiently equipped to carry out the inspection and control missions entrusted to them, in order to establish good governance at the level of the Services of Security and Civil Protection. The Secretary General also thanked EUCAP-SAHEL MALI and DCAF who spared no effort to support the department in organizing this activity.
